ABout Me
Hello, and welcome to my website! My name is Allen Fidler, I'm currently a senior at Penn State University Park majoring in Security Risk Analysis, with a minor in Information Science and Technology. I am actively searching and applying to full-time positions for after graduation, I am interested in consulting work where I can combine my passion for continuous learning with traveling, while getting to meet awesome new people along the way.
On my first tour of Penn State, one of my tour guides gave a brief introduction and described the SRA major. This was the first spark of interest I had that brought me into the world of Cyber Security. After taking just one introduction class, I was hooked and wanted to learn more. Over the past 4 years of my education at Penn State, I've developed a passion for enhancing my technical skills of my field in and out of the classroom.
Through numerous in class group projects, I have learned how to work efficiently with a team; from helping shy teammates voice their ideas and become more involved, to being patient and understanding of members who haven't contributed to the group yet. No matter what the project is, working efficiently, harmoniously, and producing desired outcomes beyond expectations is what I aim to do with any team I work with.
This past summer I got the opportunity to be a security operations intern at TMNAS (Tokio Marine North America Services) located in Bala Cynwood PA. It was a great experience where I got to apply my knowledge from the classroom to a professional setting, from monitoring security dashboards, to being the team lead on a project to implement a new file integrity monitoring agent onto the company network, I learned a lot of useful skills that will continue to help in my career goals going forward. Previously, during the summer of 2017, I studied for a little over a month to acquire my CompTIA Security+ certification that helped me learn new relevant material and reinforce the courses I took the previous 4 semesters. I plan to acquire more security certifications in the coming years.
I am very excited as I begin applying to various companies this year to see what the future holds for me after I graduate college. I hope through this site, you can learn more about me as a person and professional through my interests, qualifications and desire to succeed. Please feel free to contact me using the email provided on my contact page, thank you!
